Lucky Mobile’s eSIM is a digital version of a SIM card that’s already built into many newer phones. It works the same way as a physical SIM, but you don’t need to insert anything into your device. Everything is activated online, so there’s no waiting for shipping or visiting a store.

You can set up a Lucky Mobile eSIM in a few different ways:

  1. The most common is by scanning a QR code that Lucky Mobile sends to your email after you buy a plan. You scan this code in your phone’s settings, and your eSIM downloads automatically.
  2. If you activate your plan through the Lucky Mobile My Account app, the app will guide you through the eSIM setup.
  3. If scanning isn’t possible, you can enter Lucky Mobile’s activation details manually by typing in the SM-DP+ address bmc.prod.ondemandconnectivity.com.

Lucky Mobile runs on Bell’s nationwide network, so you get the same coverage for calls, texts, and data. To use an eSIM with Lucky Mobile, your phone must be unlocked and eSIM-compatible. 

You’ll also need the right software version - for example, iPhones need iOS 13 or newer, Samsung phones need Android 12 or newer, and Google Pixel devices need Android 10 or newer.

Lucky Mobile eSIM country availability

Lucky Mobile’s plans do not include international roaming, so your service will only work within Canada. If you travel abroad, your phone will not connect for calls, texts, or data, even in the United States. 

However, you can add international calling options to reach other countries while you are in Canada. These are sold as optional monthly add-ons, not included by default.

  • Region A covers 200 minutes for CAD $10/month to destinations such as Australia, China, Germany, Japan, the UK, Mexico, India, and many more across Asia, Europe, and the Americas. 
  • Region B offers 50 minutes for CAD $10/month to countries like Brazil, Egypt, Italy, the Philippines, Turkey, and the UAE. 
  • Region C includes 20 minutes for CAD $10/month to countries such as Morocco, Portugal, Switzerland, and Chile. There is also an unlimited U.S. calling add-on for CAD $20/month.

Because Lucky Mobile does not support roaming and data speeds abroad are not applicable, this provider is not a good fit for global travelers who need connectivity outside Canada. 

It is best suited to users who stay within Canada but want affordable ways to call friends, family, or business contacts overseas.

Lucky Mobile eSIM network coverage

Lucky Mobile uses Bell’s nationwide 4G LTE network, which covers 99% of Canada’s population and nearly every major urban area. This gives strong service in cities like Toronto and Calgary, as well as good across provinces such as Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia.

 Despite running on Bell’s LTE infrastructure, Lucky Mobile caps data speeds at about 3 Mbps - roughly comparable to 3G performance. This speed is enough for basic browsing, email, and social media, but it can feel sluggish for HD video streaming. 

In dense urban areas, performance is stable and consistent, but in rural zones, signal strength and speeds can vary more due to distance from towers and environmental factors.

Currently, Lucky Mobile does not offer 5G access, so all usage is on throttled LTE. Customers are tied to Bell’s network only and cannot switch between different carriers for coverage while on the same plan.
